Compact extruder with new drive concept

Compact extruder GSC from TROESTER with optimized drive concept.

The machine manufacturer TROESTER GmbH & Co. KG, Hanover, has optimized their rubber extruders with a new type of drive. The concept, developed in cooperation with the gearbox manufacturer Knödler GmbH, situated in Ostfildern, offers quite a number of advantages.

The 4 AC motors, integrated into the gearbox, is a compact space-saving design. Three motors are used for the drive of the screw and a further one for the separate drive of the feed roll. The control can be either screw speed or torque-dependent.

As no V-belt maintenance is necessary and the extruder is very quiet-running, thenew concept is especially user-friendly.

The PLC cabinets and all control items are placed underneath the extruder; the user only has to provide a cooling water supply and return and the electricity supply up to the connection points on the machine.

Commissioning of the compact extruder is uncomplicated, as it can be easily

integrated into a line control by means of the profibus DP interface. The

exchangeability of the screws from the new to the conventional drive version is
